“And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” John 17:3

Experiencing God

EXPERIENCING GOD BEGINS WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF GOD’S FORGIVENESS
God desires to enter into a personal love relationship with you. You are being drawn close to his heart with every step you take in response to his calling out to you. Perhaps you have had a relationship with God over time your relationship with God has faded and you are now hungering for that relationship to be renewed and restored. Our sin separates us from God, but this is a barrier that can be pulled down in an instant. The death of Jesus on the cross opened the door for your reconciliation with God.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.”
Lam 3:22-23

EXPERIENCING GOD’S MANIFEST PRESENCE
Although God is everywhere, his manifest presence is special. We are able to experience the manifest presence of God in a variety of ways: though praise and worship; under the guise of the poor and broken; and most profoundly in the Eucharist. As we enter into and spend time in God’s presence we are transformed more perfectly into the Lord’s image and likeness.

“Come,” my heart says, “seek his face!”
Your face, Lord, do I seek.”
Psalm 27:8

EXPERIENCE GOD IN PRAYER
Prayer is a conversation with God. Set aside time every day and speak to God in prayer. You can pray any place at any time, but a quiet spot is often best. Share what is troubling you as well as those things you are grateful for. After speaking in prayer allow time for silence. God speaks in a still small voice. God often also speaks though Holy Scripture so consider reading the Bible when you pray.

“Listen in silence because if your heart is full of other things you cannot hear the voice of God. But when you have listened to the voice of God in the stillness of your heart, then your heart is filled with God.”
Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

AN ACT OF CONTRITION
Dear God, I am very sorry for all my sins. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Jesus Christ, you suffered and died for me. I receive your love and forgiveness now and invite you to lead and guide my life as Lord. Amen.

We welcome your written or video testimonies.
