There is a wind of renewal from the Holy Spirit rushing upon the Catholic Church.
The wind is the very breath of God which began at Pentecost.
The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. John 3:8
This wind of renewal invites our response. It is an invitation to fully embrace a personal and life-changing relationship with God as our Father. At baptism this door of faith was opened to us. Walking through this door requires us to be vulnerable and includes an element of risk. Pope Francis recently wrote to us: “The Lord does not disappoint those who take this risk; whenever we take a step toward Jesus, we come to realize that he is already there, waiting for us with open arms.” He also shared the prayer (below) for personal renewal. |

Now is the time to say to Jesus:
“Lord, I have let myself be deceived; in a thousand ways I have shunned your love, yet here I am once more, to renew my covenant with you. I need you. Save me once again, Lord, take me once more into your redeeming embrace.” |
